Digital Learning

Digital Learning at Nexus

At Nexus, digital learning goes beyond the use of technology—it’s about developing future-ready, agile thinkers who are confident in using technology as a tool for learning, creation, and innovation. Our approach is grounded in:

  • Future Preparedness - Equipping learners with the digital, AI, and computational thinking skills needed for success in higher education and future careers.
  • Learner Agency - Encouraging independent, ethical, and creative use of technology in both academic and personal learning journeys.
  • Innovation in Practice - Making learning meaningful, immersive, and connected to real-world challenges and opportunities.

We’re proud to develop learners who can adapt, think critically, collaborate, and thrive in an ever-evolving digital world. Nexus is proud to be an Apple Distinguished School, recognised globally for innovation, leadership, and educational excellence. Through our 1:1 iPad and MacBook programme, digital tools are embedded into every aspect of learning.

Digital Literacy for Primary

In Primary, we’ve integrated Project-Based Learning (PBL) with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) to create an engaging and innovative Digital Literacy experience. Learners apply digital tools and thinking to meaningful projects, helping them:

  • Develop real-world digital skills such as coding, CAD, and multimedia design
  • Cultivate a creator mindset by designing solutions, telling digital stories, and building 3D models
  • Strengthen collaboration, communication, and critical thinking

These experiences not only make learning more engaging but also prepare learners for future pathways like IGCSE and IB Computer Science.

Digital Literacy for Secondary

From computational thinking and app development to digital marketing, AI, big data, and computer-aided design, pupils gain hands-on experience with essential modern technologies.
Nexus is proud to be the first international school in Malaysia accredited as an ICDL Asia Test Centre. This enables our students to earn globally recognized certifications in essential digital skills, including digital marketing, data analytics, and financial spreadsheets.

Integrated into our secondary curriculum, ICDL certification equips learners with practical, industry-relevant competencies that are highly valued by universities and employers. This future-focused approach builds students’ confidence and strengthens their readiness for the digital demands of higher education and careers.

As an ICDL-accredited school, Nexus is leading the way in preparing career-ready, digitally fluent graduates for success in a connected world.

Artificial Intelligence in Classroom

In Primary, due to age restrictions, direct AI tool usage is limited. However, learners explore:

  • Digital citizenship through discussions around influencers, online safety, and deepfakes
  • A strong foundation in understanding the impact of technology on society

In Secondary, older learners engage with AI in deeper, more hands-on ways:

  • Learn about and use Large Language Models (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini) for academic writing, research, and citations
  • Use AI tools for coding, creative work, and exploring real-world applications
  • Study AI in dedicated Key Stage 3 units, building up to its use in IB coursework and extended projects
