Warhammer Tournament
Jul 18, 2023
Last Saturday and Sunday, Nexus International School had the privilege of being the venue of 'ARDKORE GT: World Championship Qualifiers', a Warhammer tournament, hosted by Ardkore, a non-profit group of informal members dedicated to initiating wargaming events.
This was the first time Ardkore had held an official sanction GW (Games Workshop) tournament, and the sole winner would've been handed the prize of a single ticket to the Warhammer 40K World Championship, to be held 16th to 19th of November, in Atlanta, Georgia.
The event saw 72 players from not just Malaysia, but other countries such as Thailand and Singapore as well. Showcased were the impressive wargaming skills of players experienced or starting out alike, as they demonstrated tactical expertise, strategic mindsets, and seemingly unwavering drives throughout the 9-10 hour sessions on both days.

From Nexus, we would like to recognise Year 12 student Yassin for his participation as the only Nexus student in the event. Although he had not ultimately won, this was his first ever official tournament to participate in. As such, the Learner Bulletin Team would like to applaud his performance amidst seasoned veterans.

We must also congratulate player Pichayut Prasertwit from Thailand as the winner of the competition, and wish him the best in the World Championship.
