Term 2 Week 8
ISAC Athletics
Twenty boarders were selected to represent Nexus at the International Schools Athletic Confederation (ISAC) competition at Alice Smith School last Saturday. Although it proved to be a tough day against some huge schools it was by far our best showing yet.
In the senior girls field events, Victoria won a silver medal in shot put and a bronze in discus. Jaymond won a silver medal in the senior boys long jump, and Danish Razali won bronze in the intermediate boys high jump. Hafiz was our most successful competitor however by winning gold medal in the intermediate boys long jump. A huge well done to all for your effort.
Go Karting
While a large proportion of boarders were participating in athletics, a majority of those who stayed in house for the weekend were lucky enough to try their luck at Go-Karting at KartX in Subang. There were a few who were attempting to drive for the very first time, and this became more evident with the amount of minor crashes into the barriers during the practise rounds. During the lap races however, everybody had gained confidence and were more accustomed to the track conditions.
