Community Service at RKK
Last Saturday we welcomed the children from Rumah Keluarga Kami (RKK) to our boarding house for them to spend time with our boarders baking, decorating picture frames, playing dodgeball in the sports hall, as well as being taught how to play the piano and to ride a bike. It was pleasing to see all of our boarders participate with kindness and enthusiasm, and it is always a pleasure hosting the RKK children.
International Women’s Day Celebration
Throughout the week we acknowledged International Women’s Day by creating a ‘working wall’ in-house to have all of our boarders thinking about equality and celebrating the wonderful women around them.
The boarders thought about which women inspired them, reflected on the achievements of many women in the past and present, and finally we looked at how we can help to bring more equality to the world.
We finished off the week by inviting all staff to a coffee morning in the boarding house.
Boarders at Nexus Sports Day
We had many boarders perform magnificently at Primary and Secondary Sports Day recently. The Primary event was more of a tabloid sports day with many team relays. The Secondary Sports Day featured the more traditional track and field events, and we had thirty two boarders who placed in the top three of their respective disciplines. Some even recorded personal bests and broke school records! Well done all!
