Term 1 Week 9
Having returned from a relaxing mid-term break, the boarders have had an extremely busy week. Some of our Year 10 boarders stayed overnight at Hulu Langat as part of their Duke of Edinburgh International Bronze Award. The two day, six hour treks as well as some team building exercises were the requirements of the trip.
Jeff, Georgia and Rachel competed in the Viper Challenge, Asia’s Biggest Obstacle and Running Course Event at the Sepang International Circuit. The course covered a gruelling 20km and all three were understandably exhausted at the finish line.
Icha and Agnia were members of the Nexus Under 15 girls football team who finished second at the KLISS competition. Both girls played major roles in the team's success.
Some of us visited the KL Bird Park, which is renowned as the “World’s Largest Free-flight Walk-in Aviary”. The boarders were amazed at the vast variety of birds and they enjoyed the feeding of eagles, hornbills and ostriches as well as the bird show at the large amphitheatre.
Icha celebrated her birthday with all of the girls, spoiling them with pizza, fizzy drink and cake! Due to the over-indulgence of the food, there were some moans and groans afterwards from the girls who had full tummies.
This years school production will contain many senior boarders and after school and weekend rehearsals continue to take place for those involved. We all look forward to watching the production in three weeks time.
