House Basketball Winners
Following a few weeks of round-robin play, the two standout teams, Boarding Big Ballers and Bad Knees fought out an intensifying and at times physical final. The Big Ballers took advantage of more ball possession and converted the shot attempts into points to take a handy lead of twelve points at halftime. Bad Knees then began to sink their shots and at one stage a comeback looked likely. However, Big Ballers made two massive plays with a couple of three-pointers and the result was the inevitable, the Big Ballers winning the game 32-22 and being awarded the 2017 House Basketball Champion Trophy. Dening and Danish played well for the victors while captain Alex led his team superbly.
Well done to all teams who participated.
November Unbirthday
Staff celebrated with Icha and Dream whose birthday were in November, with us all enjoying a lovely cake at morning break time.
24 hour run
Over the weekend many of our boarders participated in the 24-Hour Race at Epsom College. Many teams entered from different schools and credit must be given to all competitors who pounded the running track endlessly through the day and night. A special mention must be given to Raziq who has been the leader of fundraising over the last couple of months, as well as encouraging his peers to compete.
The Wizard of Oz
Staff and boarders had the opportunity to watch the School Production, The Wizard of Oz with some boarders featuring as members of the cast, musicians, backstage assistance and even prop making.
Year 12 boarder Elisa performed magnificently as the main character Dorothy, while Sara, Dream and Victoria played their cast roles superbly too.
Well Done Carter!
Congratulations to Carter from Year 4 who passed his Taekwondo green belt examination recently. The highlight of the exam was having to break boards with both his feet and hands. Carter will now practise towards the green with stripes belt during CCA next term.
