Funtime at the Circus

Over twenty boarders along with Mr Troy and Ms Bobby made the short journey to Desa Parkcity to watch the exhilarating and enjoyable Swiss Dream Circus.
Throughout the afternoon we witnessed a variety of acts including the swing trapeze, hula hoops, aerial pole, juggling, the humorous Clown Andre, and the most spine-chilling of acts was the Skywalker Aerial Act where the talented performer hangs upside down 35 feet above the ring by his feet without any security!
The boarders were able to meet all performers after the show for autographs and photos.
Following the circus we all had time to roam the Park where we had some dinner and played carnival games.
House Indoor Football Final
Good Shape FC and the Mong Beans battled it out for the Nexus Boarding Indoor Football Trophy last Monday evening. Throughout pool play these two teams looked the most threatening with solid defensive qualities mixed with their attacking prowess.
Good Shape FC made the most of their goals on shot, racking up a higher percentage to win 6 - 1. Ryan was outstanding for the victors, picking up a hat-trick and Danish defended stoutly in goal.
The Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for each team went to:
Good Shape - Ryan, Mong Beans - Atakhan, Alex & Tins FC - Lancelot, Miles FC - Miles
Jeff, Jun and Callie were awarded the Best & Fairest certificate for their tireless efforts over the last six weeks.
Well done to all teams who competed.
Settling-In Tutor Day
Our Year 7-11 boarders were off school timetable last Wednesday, as they visited their Tutors with parents or houseparents. This gave houseparents an opportunity to meet teaching staff as well as to see how our boarders have settled into the new academic year.
Sunday Sundae
The ever popular Sunday Sundae returned to boarding after prep with many enjoying the delicious ice cream and toppings to complete another busy week in boarding. Mr Troy will continue to organise and oversee this splendiferous treat. A chocolate fondue with strawberries and a mobile ice cream machine have already been arranged for next half term!!
Deepavali Decorations
Ms Bobby along with Sara, Edith and Grace decorated the boarding house with a magnificent Rangoli design in the main common room.
