New boarders, new staff, new look!!
We welcomed everybody back, including fourteen new boarders, and new houseparents Mr Dan and Ms Sarah to boarding after a long and relaxing summer holiday break.

The purchase of new furniture for the main common area as well as each houseparent decorating their own floors over the holiday period has enlivened the look and character of our fantastic boarding establishment.
Some minor alterations have been made to the routine of boarding, most noticeably the change of caterers. We now have two catering firms providing for us, SHF Services for weekday breakfast & lunch and Sri Emas Catering who supply weekday dinners and all weekend meals. Boarders have the opportunity to cook breakfast themselves over the weekend and having us all dine together in the main common area has already created a calm and enjoyable ambience amongst all. The buffet style meals continue, and the smell of fresh coffee with the background cafe music first thing in the morning at breakfast time, certainly prepares us all for another splendid day.

IGCSE & IB results
We are proud to say that all eleven of our Year 13 boarding graduates from last term, (as well as thirty day learners), received and were awarded the IB Diploma Programme having passed their exams.
A special mention must be made to Sue Yen (43 points), Aiman & Azalea (41 points) and Wei Young (39 points). Congratulations to all Year 13 graduates!
Our IGCSE boarders also achieved good grades from their examinations that they sat last term.

Saturday Fun Day
Our first weekend was relatively quiet for us all. We visited IOI shopping mall to stock up on food and toiletries, and our new boarders discovered pretty quickly  what shops they will frequently visit over the course of the year. Some stayed behind to watch the mighty All Black rugby team defeat Australia, and in the evening most enjoyed winning chocolate bars playing Bingo, and also eating Magnum ice cream or popcorn during Movie Night.

Wacky Sunday
A feature of our term one calendar is Wacky Sunday, an afternoon of fun, team building exercises and games which the entire house participates in. Boarders all met in the Sports Hall, slightly nervous about what was in store for them. Having completed some ‘ice-breaker’ activities and then being allocated into teams, where there were relay races including ‘Hungry Hippo’, and finishing off with Tug-O-War then ‘Save the Egg’ where teams had to make a parachute from a mixture of materials, useful enough to ensure an egg did not break from a drop of over fifty feet. All teams successfully completed this particular task.

A majority of us enjoyed a swim afterwards, and we were then all treated to a splendid BBQ dinner to complete a fantastic day.
