Indoor Football Finals Night
Monday, November 5, 2018
On Monday night, the much anticipated Indoor Football Competition Finals night was held as Swift won the 3rd & 4th playoff match against the Year 5 & 6 side Messi is the Best. Kim Chi n Black battled The Kartoffeln for the ‘Champions Trophy’ and following a tense and cautious first half, the style of play become more free flowing in the second spell which suited Kim Chi’s team better as they recorded a solid 5-2 victory. Congratulations to team members from Kim Chi - Philip, Reena, Atakhan, Izzah, Maheem and Kim. Well done to all who competed over the last eight weeks, particularly Messi is the Best who performed admirably as they encountered older and more experienced teams each week.
Spooky & Fun Evening on Halloween Night
Many of us celebrated Halloween as the Boarding Council and Houseparents decorated the house in style. Some fun games such as Hanging Donut, Find the Worm and Team Ping-Pong Power Ball were played with plenty of enthusiasm and laughter.
Deepavali Celebrations
A quick turnaround of decorations enabled the boarders on Thursday evening to enjoy a splendid Indian dinner before playing a Deepavali themed Kahoots game. Girls then had the opportunity for Mehndi, a form of Ancient Indian body art, as Henna was applied to their hands. The boarders finished the evening off snacking on different varieties of Muruku asthey all gathered into the common room to watch the Indian biographical sports drama film Dangal.
Ayla performs well at Horse Competition
Over three days last week Ayla competed in dressage and showjumping events at the Selangor Turf Club Annual Horse Show. Riding Blue a 17 hand Irish Sport Horse, Ayla’s best performance was in a showjumping event where she claimed first place out of 49 competitors. Ayla frequently practises riding at Benua Equestrian Stables which is not far from Nexus, and is where Horse-Riding CCA is held every Wednesday afternoon. Well done Ayla!
