Trips abroad, motorbikes & trampolines
Most boarders returned back from an enjoyable Mid Term break with family, although those who travelled to France and Spain for two weeks as part of a school trip arrived to the boarding house still jet-lagged. Nevertheless, the ‘tourists’ immersed themselves amongst the European culture by enjoying the food, local people and the learning of foreign languages.
IA Silver Award Trip
Some of our Year 11 boarders travelled to Langkawi, performing admirably and as a group, passed the Adventurous Journey area of IA Silver Award. The excursion is based mainly on kayaking, but also team-building tasks, cooking and navigating which all participants were required to contribute in.
ATV Jungle Adventure Ride
We left early Sunday morning for our ATV Jungle Adventure Trip. It was a brilliant day full of laughter by all. We arrived at the centre in the jungle before receiving our safety briefing, being assigned to our own ATV’s and partaking in some laps of the simple practise track.
Once we were ready, we began our steep ascent on the ATV’s up the muddy tracks further into the jungle. After approximately an hour of riding we arrived at collection of falls and pools and we enjoyed a well deserved dip to cool down. Our riding back to the centre was a huge improvement on the ride out which demonstrated how far we had all come along in such a short time, although Chen slightly lost his bearings and somehow ended up in the shallow river!!
District 21
On Saturday Ms Sarah and Ms Kay took two groups of very excited boarders for an active afternoon to District 21 an adventure park located at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya. It has a variety of activities, lots involving ‘being in the sky’ and testing your ability to not ‘lose your cool’ whilst dangling from a high rope. The different challenges had everyone flying, sliding, bouncing, jumping, riding and climbing. All of the boarders had great fun and were absolutely exhausted after an afternoon of strenuous activity; particularly those who completed the Sky Trail. Although, the other attractions were also very challenging, these included; The Power Station, Roller Glider, Go Pedal, Pump Track, Low Ropes, The Launchpad, The Maze, Free Fall and The Tubby Ride.
