Term 1 Week 2
We went to Endah Parade to try our luck at roller-blading on Saturday and we were fortunate to have Ms Samantha with us who turned out to be quite proficient at skating. Following an introduction and some practise lessons, a minority of us then spent the next two hours either lying on the floor having not quite managing to balance ourselves properly.
Some boarders however, turned out to be naturals on roller skates particularly Icha, Agnia and Terence. After a quick break to rehydrate ourselves, we all skated for a few more laps around the skating area before packing up and heading into the shopping mall to collect some supplies. In all we had a great afternoon, and although some struggled to adapt to roller-skating, it was pleasing to see our boarders encouraging and offering their advice to each other in a positive manner.
Last Wednesday was Merdeka Day and with no school, some boarders participated in Decoration Day, where they could make posters or designs to decorate their own bedroom doors or common areas. There were some fantastic designs, notably all of the girls’ who made a ‘family tree’ which is displayed in their common room. Prizes were awarded to those with the most interesting and colourful designs.
A reminder to parents and guardians that next weekend Friday 16th (Malaysia Day) to Sunday 18th September, the boarding house will remain open for the long weekend.
