Mandarin Teacher
BA Hons Communication Cambridge International Diploma in Teaching and Learning
I was born in Penang but raised in a small town in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. Teaching has been my passion for over a decade, from tutoring my younger brother in Mandarin and English at the age of 14 to becoming a trained teacher today, teaching remains my passion to this day.
Over the past 12 years, my focus has been on IGCSE Mandarin Chinese and Mandarin as a Second Language. My goal, as a language teacher, is to show that mastering more than one language is possible. Besides that, the most rewarding part of me being a teacher is also the opportunity to make meaningful connections with students.
Beyond the classroom, you'll find me immersing in music. I am a lead vocalist of a local band and I’ve had the opportunity to coach and mentor various local singing contests as well. I like to indulge myself in cheesy Pop songs and shamelessly belt them out whenever I get the chance. Traveling is my other passion as I've explored over 15 countries, with Sweden and Japan being my favourites.
