Through English, learners develop skills in speaking, listening, reading writing, language Awareness and Drama. This enables them to express themselves creatively and imaginatively, and to communicate with others effectively. Learners aim to become enthusiastic and critical readers of stories, poetry and drama as well as non-fiction and media texts. Emphasis is placed on literacy being fun, creative and integrated to the thematic curriculum, thus paving the way for each child to take up reading and writing as a pleasurable activity rather than an educational chore. - Geography

- Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Learners use a range of ICT tools to find, explore, analyse, exchange and present information responsibly, creatively and with discrimination. Both learners and teachers use ICT as a learning tool throughout the curriculum. It is an integral part of learning at Nexus. Interactive whiteboards, laptops and iPads are a part of our normal daily lessons and we have dedicated ICT integrators working with learners and teachers. - Mathematics (Year 3) / Mathematics (Year 4)
During maths lessons, learners investigate, develop and use abstract tools such as logical reasoning and problem solving. Learners develop their knowledge and understanding of mathematics through practical activities, exploration and discussion. Topics covered include calculating, counting and understanding number, handling data, knowing and using number, measuring, understanding shape and using and applying mathematics. Amongst a range of available resources and teacher expertise, a commercial scheme, involving much use of ICT in Maths is used to guide learning and teaching. - Music
All learners from Early Years to Year 6 have dedicated music lessons with our music teacher. Each goal will be visited several times ensuring good progression for all learners. A specialist Music programme is also offered. - Other Languages

All learners in Year 3 and Year 4 learn about Malaysia as their host country, including some core language. This is in addition to three lessons per week of either Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin or Spanish. - Physical Education
All children from Early Years to year 6 will be engaged in a fully inclusive, active and stimulating PE curriculum with our PE teacher. The PE curriculum will contain topics such as Invasion games, Outdoor adventurous activities, Gymnastics, Athletics, Swimming, Dance and Health and Fitness. As we have the benefits of a PE teacher at Nexus, we make sure the goals are supplemented by goals from other curricula and a comparison is available from the PE department. - Science
