Y5 learn to make Masala Tea

Nov 27, 2018

This week we are celebrating Deepavali at school. In Year 5 we think that being Internationally Minded is very important and so we love to learn about other countries, cultures, and religions. In our World Cultures lesson Chef Rihaash showed us how to make his grandma's famous Masala tea. He mixed the ingredients and cooked up a delicious, sweet brew that we all got to enjoy. 'I cooked up Masala tea. It is sweet, milky and everyone loved it! I had no bad reviews of the tea! enthused chef Rihaash. Chef's assistant, Maurice, agreed saying, 'We made a famous Indian tea called Masala tea. I really enjoyed the making of the tea and especially the drinking of it!' On Friday we have our Deepavali curriculum day where we will dress in traditional Indian clothes, taste Indian food, and watch a showcase assembly all about Deepavali. Happy Deepavali everyone!
