Party in the Park 2018

Party in the Park 2018
Jul 10, 2018
Party in the Park 2018 was festive, fun-filled and focused. Party in the Park would not have been possible if not for the endless stream of student volunteers who spent weeks organising the event, were dedicated to spreading awareness, and raising money for this year's fundraiser. This year's aim was to fundraise for the Autism Cafe Project, a cafe that employs youths with autism in the hopes of nurturing independence, in light of Nexus’ 10th Year Anniversary. With a bouncy castle, food trucks and entertainment stalls, this event incorporated traditional art such as henna with other forms of entertainment such as face painting and slime making. Nexus students showcased their talents on the stage and dazzled the crowd until the end of the night.  The Nexus students also had a surprise flash mob in store choreographed and organised by one of our very own Year 12 students. The support from the Nexus community was remarkable. Even while it was raining, our students showed steadfast support to the performers. It wouldn’t have been a success without the donations from participants and the constant flow of people right up to 8:30 at night. Filled with colour and laughter, this year's Party in the Park was truly a success which was exhibited through all the money raised for Autism Cafe Project!
