Outstanding Learner Awards
Dec 3, 2018
On Thursday 22nd November, I was honoured to attend the Oustanding Cambridge Learner Awards on behalf of one of our former learners, Jing Hui Tan. Now studying for his IB Diploma in United Kingdom, Jing was unable to attend the awards so I went in his place to collect his award for High Achievement* in Malaysia for his World Literature results. Over the last two years that I taught Jing IGCSE Language and Literature, he embodied the Nexus spirit completely: his enthusiasm for learning lit up the classroom; his creativity and ingenuity inspired his peers; and his hard work and dedication to improvement paid off when he received an A* in both subjects this summer. It was such a pleasure to teach Jing and therefore such an honour to collect this fantastic achievement on his behalf. Jing, ever humble, told me, when he came back to visit the school after his first half term studying in Kent, England, that he was shocked but very proud to have been awarded this magnificent achievement.
