With 20 years of teaching experience, I have had the privilege of working in a variety of educational contexts, specialising in History, English, and Humanities. A graduate of the University of Manchester, I have also served as a Cambridge examiner for 18 years, gaining valuable insight into international examination standards. As a Higher Education and Careers advisor for the past decade, I have guided countless students in shaping their futures, helping them navigate pathways to universities and beyond.
Currently, I am the Head of IB at Nexus International School, where I have been part of the community for seven years. My international teaching career began in Tanzania as Head of 6th Form after teaching in the UK for seven years. Since then, I have taught in Sri Lanka and China, accumulating extensive experience with IGCSE's, A-level's, and the IB curriculum. I have always been passionate about curriculum development, and during my time in the UK, I was invited by HMI to contribute to the creation of the new KS3 curriculum.
Just before transitioning to international teaching, I was honored to be nominated by parents, staff and students for the Guardian Secondary School Teacher of the Year Award, where I received a distinction. This recognition has been one of the most rewarding moments of my career, reinforcing my commitment to nurturing the potential of every student.
