I am really looking forward to joining the Nexus community as well as moving to Kuala Lumpur this year. I will be coming with my wife who is a Primary School Teacher and I will be joining as a Secondary EAL Teacher. I have worked in the field of English as an additional language for 10 years and have taught all ages from Early Years children to Secondary students.
This will be my fourth international school post and I have previously worked in Nanjing and Guangzhou in China as well as in El Salvador. My University degree was in Theatre Studies and I enjoy incorporating drama into the classroom with my students. I aim to ensure that EAL students are able to become independent learners and to be confident in all aspects of school life.
My interests include learning Chinese and Spanish and playing various sports in my spare time such as badminton, tennis and hockey. I am also a keen football fan and enjoy following the ups and downs (mainly downs!) of my favourite club Leeds United. My biggest passion is travelling and I cannot wait to explore more of Malaysia, learn more about Malaysian culture and of course sample the delicious food on offer.
